I write a blog about data science – You should do that too!

Every data scientist needs to be able to share their work.
With all the repos, dashboards, and packages, we often overlook the plain old text.

Your own blog is your own. You can do whatever you want with it.
That includes, using it for improving your own skills, such as writing.

Bloggers don't start blogging – People who blog, are called bloggers.

You own website, is a place where you can show your work!
A while ago, I did so by giving a run-down of my master thesis:

Seeded Topic Models as a Yard Stick: Implement them in R with keyATM
How to estimate seeded LDA models in R with quanteda and keyATM. An example on modelling geopolitical risk from debate transcripts (text).

How cool is it, that tons of data scientists can learn about your projects?

Creating beats consuming every day of the week.

# some code for this post
print("Blogging about data science forces you to write clean code.")
print("Blogging about data science forces you to write clean code.")
print("Blogging about data science forces you to write clean code.")
Because everyone is going to use it.

Data scientists are creators.
We take the data, and build something from it.
Why not fully embrace your role as a creator? Start your blog.

A blog helps your career.

What better way to show your passion for data science, than to create an entire website on your own?

You start to make connections with others in the field.
I receive emails from you, where you tell me about your current project, or ask me a question. How great is that?

What you do is exciting – They don't know it yet, but others want to hear about it.
